Call for feedback #TimeChaos

TimeChaos is basically a little “experiment” game  created in only 48 hours (less because I actually sleep in weekends). We use this game to try out new things and idea’s like adding simple twitter-uploading of scores, and with this last update we added a little “more games” button to see if that would actually help people finding and trying our other games.

The game itself could also use some new stuff, but since it’s just this little silly game I’m not really sure how players would look at it.. so why not let you guys tell us what you want!  I’ve added a little list of ideas below, you can mail, twitter or just comment your feedback and idea’s.. and we will see what we can add in next updates.

Moving levels – Right now the background is really just a static image and you only have the current screen to play on.. but one idea is to make the background move, so that you can have more screen space and a sense of progress

Other levels – Pretty simple idea is to have you go to other levels after X amount of time or kills.. just changes the background scenery, but it again gives a nice sense of progression.

Big bosses – Adding little boss fights could be cool.. all small soldiers would suddenly stop coming at you, and a bigger enemy requiring much more bullets could pop up

..just some of the ideas I’m playing with now, but there are much more, like weapon-upgrades? more enemies? powerups (like mega bombs, blowing everything up at once), etc..  give us your feedback! and we might make this game into something even more retro !

Small improvements #android

There is a small new update that replaces the greystripe ads with ads from another provider, this is mostly an experiment to see how the advertising providers match up.  BUT! That’s not all in this small update, the Pause screen is now improved (it shows PAUSE! for those that didn’t understand it) and there is a simple help screen added for those that don’t “get” the game.

Quick Droid fix

Just pushed an update, I think I fixed the problem on the Droid devices with the black-bar on the rightside. The bug was caused because the game uses the Android option of scaling images if the display has a higher resolution. So the game is developed for 480×320 screens, but the Droid has a 854 by 480 and obviously there are some problems with resizing that 1:1.

The fix now simply repeats a small part of the background image, and that should cover the weird effect you guys were seeing (let me know if it didn’t!)

Release version 1

And it’s done.. 48 hours of developing, and the first version is now available from Android Market. Have fun playing it ;) and make sure to twitter your highscores!

ps: will make a better blog out of this.. just a quick and dirty wordpress for now

Nearing release

I’m using today to tiddy up most of the gameplay code, and hope to release  a first version of this game later today onto the Android Market..  it will be a full free game, no strings attached.   I will most likely also release the source code as opensource so people can check it out and have fun with it. Have to look into the best way to do that without giving away to much trade secrets :p

Right now the game is playable, scores can be posted to Twitter which is a nice touch, and there is one level there with different opponents. So check back in 4 hours and you might find it downloadable from the market!
