more 8 bit gameboy fun!

So originally this game was just a little 48 hour fun thing I made for Android.. but then last week I ported the game to iPhone (coming soon) and also started to think about the various stuff that can be done to the game. The first thing that I wanted to do was add more environment, so this was basically a very simple thing to do: I’ve split up all the enemies into “waves” and made the background level a much larger horizontal strip that you can walk around in.
So after every wave you have to walk to the right, having a feeling of progressing through the game area’s, and the game already had this increase in difficulty the longer your played, so the farther you get into the level, the hard it seems to become. Pretty simple changes, the most work was put into actually drawing a much bigger background !
Of course this is not where we end, the next update will get all this AND a second level, so we split up the levels into “missions” and we are suddenly getting a much bigger game with little to no changes in the core concept. The second level will feature some new type of enemies and dangers, to keep the game interesting, and possible we will add some more weapons or bonus stuff to keep everything balanced.
I really like this limit on the amount of colors I can put into the artwork (just four colors!!), it means you have to be much more into the details and place pixels one by one to get things looking good.. level one and two are now completely drawn, so have a look at some screenshots from the various area’s:
#iPhone version is ready!

Our little retro GameBoy style game is now coming to iPhone! It contains everything from the latest Android version, and the gameplay is just as frantic and brilliant as the original.
If all goes right, Apple should be approving the app within this week, so stay tuned!

A little update for TimeChaos just got pushed out, I replaced the Twitter score bragging function with our normal RumbleX highscore support. Most people didn’t really seem to use the twitter option, so that experiment is now completed.
We also redid the menu screen, making room for the new button, and we added another BIG surprise that you will find out if you play good enough
Call for feedback #TimeChaos

TimeChaos is basically a little “experiment” game created in only 48 hours (less because I actually sleep in weekends). We use this game to try out new things and idea’s like adding simple twitter-uploading of scores, and with this last update we added a little “more games” button to see if that would actually help people finding and trying our other games.
The game itself could also use some new stuff, but since it’s just this little silly game I’m not really sure how players would look at it.. so why not let you guys tell us what you want! I’ve added a little list of ideas below, you can mail, twitter or just comment your feedback and idea’s.. and we will see what we can add in next updates.
Moving levels – Right now the background is really just a static image and you only have the current screen to play on.. but one idea is to make the background move, so that you can have more screen space and a sense of progress
Other levels – Pretty simple idea is to have you go to other levels after X amount of time or kills.. just changes the background scenery, but it again gives a nice sense of progression.
Big bosses – Adding little boss fights could be cool.. all small soldiers would suddenly stop coming at you, and a bigger enemy requiring much more bullets could pop up
..just some of the ideas I’m playing with now, but there are much more, like weapon-upgrades? more enemies? powerups (like mega bombs, blowing everything up at once), etc.. give us your feedback! and we might make this game into something even more retro !
Small improvements #android

There is a small new update that replaces the greystripe ads with ads from another provider, this is mostly an experiment to see how the advertising providers match up. BUT! That’s not all in this small update, the Pause screen is now improved (it shows PAUSE! for those that didn’t understand it) and there is a simple help screen added for those that don’t “get” the game.
